Raku | Smoke Fired Vase | Heathland Collection - Medium Heathland Vessel
Inspired by woody low-growing vegetation of the heath of The Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Pottery that connects you to the earth. Handformed in the West of Cornwall, England in my home studio, Sparrows Nest. Morning walks and meditations on the heathland have inspired this heathland collection. I responsibly forage organic matter such as seaweed and fern with I dry out and use in my outdoor firings to create visual patterns and marks on the vessel during the process. The nature of a saggar firing means that each vessel is unique and the firing is random in terms of how the organic matter influences the final look. I’m therefore unable to recreate a design or look. Due to the nature of raku primtive firings the clay remains semi porous and is not suitable for holding water, therefore the vessel is a decorated art piece or for a dried arrangement. Smoked fired vessels ideally should be left out of direct sunlight.Large Heathland Pod £200 height approx 17cmMedium Heathland Vessel £165 height approx 12cm Set of three small Heathland Vases (slimmer set) - series 1 £65 height approx 9cmSet of three small Heathland Vases (shorter curver set) - Series 2 £65 height approx 8cm

Please note that I cannot be held responsible for delivery times and delays in arrival. I use a tracked service for international and once in the system it is down the courier service. Deliveries are taking longer in general particularly in the EU but are turning up. Obviously over the festive period this will put further pressure on services.
